Techniques:
A Brief Explanation
I routinely use a combination of therapies that may include various modalities
such as:
Deep tissue: Therapy using forearms, elbows and fists running at
various angles to the muscle fibers. The work may be slow or vigorous but
firm; manipulation of muscle, connective tissue and ligaments will remove
restrictions and adhesions.
Therapeutic & Swedish/Relaxation:
Swedish/Relaxation is the most common form of massage. This classic’s
benefits include: improving circulation, aiding with fatigue; revitalizes
stiff, sore muscles; lowers blood pressure and quiets the mind. Great for
headaches, aching feet, neck and backs.
Therapeutic massage is helpful for chronic pain. It will promote faster
healing of tissues. It can lessen depression & anxiety.
Both techniques aid with blood flow and elimination of toxins, boost immune
system and promote a decent night's sleep.
Positional Release: Helps to “un-contract” muscles. By holding them
in a position for a time - the brain lets the muscle release from spasm.
Myofascial Release: Fascia interlinks all parts of the body. This
gentle modality releases fascial restrictions and restores full flexibility and
hydration to muscles.
Stretching: Both passive and active stretching can strengthen
individual muscles, increase flexibility and reduce the risk of injury.
All massages are professional, non-sexual sessions. Draping is required.
